Yesterday, we distributed an updated COVID protocol to leadership of North American production facilities and offices. In summary, and effective immediately:
- The use of face coverings is recommended (regardless of vaccination status) during a North American office employees’ journey to the office, while walking throughout any office, or when social distancing cannot be accommodated. (This includes all corporate and facility offices.)
- The use of face coverings is not required by fully vaccinated employees in the North American Company’s production/distribution environment, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations. Unvaccinated employees and all visitors must continue to social distance and wear face coverings. Facility leadership may implement stricter guidelines if local COVID numbers escalate.
- COVID protocol in International were not impacted by the changes in North America.*
At this time, I am asking all our leadership teams across the globe to update and attentively enforce COVID safety protocols. I am also asking each of you to consider what additional actions you can take, such as getting vaccinated, to minimize the spread of COVID.
In the past month, we have lost three Mauser Packaging Solutions team members to COVID. I want to make sure we lose no more. As your leader, my most important objective is to ensure the health and safety of our Mauser colleagues and their families. This is what made taking the COVID vaccine such an easy decision for me.
I respect that vaccination is your choice and will continue to respect that choice. However, for those of you who are not fully vaccinated, I ask that you please read up on the topic and take into consideration the vast amount of data that shows vaccination is the best and most effective way to protect yourself from getting COVID-19 and preventing hospitalization and death due to the virus.
We can all help eradicate COVID-19 together, but it will take each and every one of us doing our part. Please consider vaccination, for yourself, your family, and your community.
