We are excited to announce that the DrumGuard® load securing system, in partnership with Strauch GmbH, has received an Honorable Mention for Advancement in Industrial Distribution Systems in the Packaging Innovation Awards by Dow.
As the first product of its kind, the DrumGuard provides unparalleled cargo protection while drastically reducing single-use plastic waste such as stretch wrap and strapping to secure steel, plastic and fiber drums on pallets.

The DrumGuard system consists of only two components and can be installed 95% faster than conventional load securing methods.  Once the unit arrives safely at its destination, the DrumGuard is quick and easy to remove. Its robust design allows the system to be used multiple times and returned to its original user through our network of more than 100 collection sites globally. At the end of its usable life, the DrumGuard is fully recyclable.

A special congratulations to Marc Löffler, Head of Technical Services, Diana Büttgen, Head of European Return Program, and their teams for their work on this product.

Inaugurated in 1986, Dow’s Packaging Innovation Awards are recognized globally as the leading packaging awards program. Formerly the DuPont Awards, the program honors innovations for technological advancement, sustainability, and enhanced user experience. Over 200 entries were reviewed by an independent panel of judges representing different parts of the value chain and different geographies.

“The quality of innovations we saw in the 2020 Packaging Innovation Awards is remarkable, especially considering that the entry process had virtual components this year for the first time,” said Diego Donoso, business president for Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics. “I’m inspired that the packaging industry continues to move sustainability and innovation forward even during complicated times. All winner should be proud of their accomplishments.”
