Mauser Packaging Solutions – Conflicts of Interest Training

Michelle MachenMauser News, Leadership Messages

As part of our commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards, we will be launching a mandatory Conflicts of Interest training via the NAVEX platform for all Mauser Packaging Solutions employees with company email. This training must be completed by February 13, 2026.

Workplace conflicts of interest occur when an employee’s personal interests interfere with their work responsibilities.  Our Code of Conduct and Business Ethics requires all of our employees to act in the interests of the company and not for their own personal gain.  For this reason, it is important to be able to identify actual and potential Conflicts of Interest so they can be disclosed and managed appropriately.

In this short training module, you'll learn:

  • What is a Conflict of Interest (COI)?   We'll define COIs, covering financial, personal, and/or professional situations that can compromise our duties to the company.
  • Why It Matters: Understand how COIs impact our reputation and legal compliance, and why proactive disclosure and management of COIs is essential.
  • Real-World Scenarios: Interactive examples will guide you in recognizing potential conflicts.
  • How to Disclose: Instructions on reporting procedures to ensure open communication and transparency.   Reporting procedures can also be found in the Code of Conduct and Business Ethics

A few examples of COIs include:

  • Hiring a relative or a relative’s company to provide services our company needs.
  • Owning a business that sells goods or services to Mauser
  • Investing in or working for a competitor
  • Accepting inappropriate gifts from vendors or customers for preferential treatment
  • Working for a vendor or customer while continuing to do business with them
  • Sharing confidential information about Mauser with a competitor or other third party for personal gain
  • Hiring a family member for a position within the company (known as nepotism).
  • Having a romantic relationship with a supervisor or subordinate

Our goal is to empower you to identify and navigate ethical dilemmas, differentiate personal vs. business interests, and build a culture of accountability and trust.

In the next few days, all employees with company email will receive a link to complete the COI training through the NAVEX platform.  Please complete the training by February 13, 2026.  We will send a reminder in early January.

Your participation is vital as we work together to uphold our values and make responsible decisions daily.  Thank you for your commitment to Mauser’s success and integrity.
