Due to an increase in incidents involving forklift incidents, MIPS is increasing visibility of demarcation areas for forklift traffic and raising awareness with employees regarding the importance of adhering to forklift safety as both a pedestrian and driver.
Clearly marked pathways for traffic are a first step in increasing safety related to forklifts in facilities. Physical barriers such as partition walls and grids severely restrict the necessary flexibility in the production and storage areas, which is why floor markings are typically used to designate areas for forklifts and pedestrians.
As a company, we are committed to ensuring these markings are updated as they get dirty, wear out over time or when production flow changes require a change in traffic within the facility. All areas of a facility, including walkways, storage areas, production areas, must be clearly defined and labeled.
As employees, it is important to adhere to indicated walkways and restricted areas in order to avoid incidents. Additionally, all employees should help keep walkways and driving lanes free from clutter or being blocked.
Despite all efforts at defining and marking areas within the facility, it is important to work and move carefully to avoid any potential hazards. We can only reduce the risk of accidents and increase safety by acting prudently and complying with regulations at all times.

St. Priest, France Reconditioning Storage Area
In the St. Priest reconditioning facility, IBCs are sorted at the site and prepared for the corresponding cleaning lines. In addition, individual parts such as IBC bladders and cages are prepared and transported for separate processing or disposal. The forklift trucks cross paths here. Care must be taken to ensure clear demarcation and activities in the area.

Esches, France IBC Production
In the Esches facility, IBC are completely finished on the production line. In situations where only the IBC bladder is needed for orders where bladders are produced in bulk and made available to ther facilities, the bladder and cage are temporarily stored seperately. During storage, it is imporant to clearly demarcate the walkways and storage areas and ensure stored components do not obstruct the walkways.
