Recognizing Mauser Truck Drivers for Commitment to Excellent Service

Michelle MachenMauser News

At Mauser Packaging Solutions we recognize the wide variety of roles and responsibilities that are critical in providing quality service to our customers. With the deployment of the Mauser Private Fleet, our over-the-road truck drivers are vital to the Company’s ability to deliver products to customers, move raw materials and components within our vast network, and facilitate the return of used containers for reconditioning or recycling. These individuals spend hours on the road connecting our products and services to our customers and act as ‘brand ambassadors’ as they engage with customers, suppliers and the public.

This year Mauser Packaging Solutions launched a Driver Recognition Program that recognizes individual drivers for their years of service and safety performance achievements. As part of the program, drivers are presented with new Mauser branded gear and certificates of achievement during recognition events. Drivers with more than 10 years of service are presented with a pewter trophy marking their significant tenure. In addition to recognition for their service, these events provide an opportunity for drivers to engage with each other, share stories of their experiences on the road and share a meal together.

Brian Bogusz, Corporate Fleet Safety Manager commented on the program saying, “We wanted to show our gratitude and appreciation for the drivers who work tirelessly to provide our customers with the highest level of service while maintaining a high level of expertise and professionalism on the public highways. The recognition program serves as an opportunity to say, ‘thank you’ and present them with a well-deserved salute in the presence of their peers and family.”

The first of these recognition events began in May at multiple locations. Recognition events will continue in more than 29 locations recognizing over 120 drivers throughout the balance of 2022. “In addition to recognizing our drivers for their service and performance achievements, these events allow for networking, recruiting and relationship building among our teams,” said Andrew Eckhard, Private Fleet Director.

Other programs in support of driver recruiting and retention efforts include a driver sign-on/stay-on bonus, quarterly safety bonuses and investments in upgraded equipment and technology that aim to keep our drivers and the community safe on the roadways.

Eckhard commented, “To successfully deploy and sustain a private fleet, Mauser Packaging Solutions continues to invest and develop a culture of retention. Current economic conditions present unending job opportunities for drivers and our goal is to be an employer of choice. This means we must engage early and often from their first experiences with Mauser throughout what is hopefully a long-tenured career. It is important that we listen to their feedback, address their needs and recognize their successes and milestones along the way.”

Mauser Packaging Solutions drivers and the Corporate Logistics team also participate in the “Truckers Against Trafficking” (TAT) program – whose mission is to “to educate, equip, empower and mobilize members of the trucking, bus and energy industries to combat human trafficking”. Our drivers and team members are certified advocates and act as the eyes and ears of our nation’s highways, as they are in a unique position to make a difference and close loopholes to traffickers who seek to exploit our transportation system for their personal gain. Today, 90% of the company’s fleet is TAT certified.

Operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle brings many challenges as well as the opportunity to have a positive impact within the industry and on the general public. Mauser drivers provide safe and secure shipment for our customers while representing the company to the public they encounter on the roads. As a company, we are committed to ensuring these professionals have the tools and training to perform their duties safely and receive the recognition they deserve.
