National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), November 15-21, 2021, is a nationwide celebration in the United States that brings together business leaders, career seekers, labor, educational institutions, and other critical partners to demonstrate their support for apprenticeships. The week-long celebration highlights the benefits of apprenticeships in preparing a highly-skilled workforce to meet the talent needs of employers across diverse industries.

Apprenticeship programs play an important role in maintaining a sustainable workforce through the training of the next generation of employees. Modeled after the long-standing European apprenticeship program, Mauser Packaging Solutions launched the North American Apprenticeship Program in the fall of 2019 to invest and develop the skill sets of our next generation of employees. The North American Apprenticeship Program concentrates on developing mechanical and electrical skill sets over a three-year educational and technical training program while in Germany apprentices are accepted primarily as Industrial Clerks, IT-Specialists, or in Technical positions.

Mauser Packaging Solutions currently has 11 apprentices working in 4 facilities in various stages of the North American Apprenticeship Program. The first apprentices are expected to complete the program in 2022. Additionally, there are 139 apprentices working and learning in our international offices and facilities.

“These apprentices are making a difference in our facilities as they provide valuable assistance while receiving hands on training,” commented Jason Wasikowski, Technical Training Manager.
