National Recycling Day

Michelle MachenOur Stories

On America Recycles Day (November 15), Mauser Packaging Solutions recognizes the importance and impact of recycling, which has contributed to American prosperity and the protection of our environment. The recycling rate has increased from less than 7 percent in 1960 to the 2019 rate of 32 percent. An EPA study found that recycling and reuse activities in the United States accounted for 681,000 jobs and $37.8 billion in wages.1

The recycling efforts of communities and business throughout the United States have helped with this success and growth. Mauser Packaging Solutions plays a vital role in packaging re-use and recycling. We recycle thousands of tons of steel every year and millions of pounds of HDPE, saving valuable raw materials and protecting our environment. Our worldwide network of over 90 reconditioning facilities collects and processes various types of used industrial containers from steel and plastic drums to Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), with reuse as the primary goal. Containers that cannot be reused are recycled to produce raw material for other products. Our Infinity Series product line provides customers with the most comprehensive portfolio of UN-verified industrial packaging with recycled content.

In addition to the sustainability impact you make through Mauser Packaging Solutions’ recycling efforts, you can make a difference in your personal life by choosing to recycle at home as well. Recycling everyday objects, such as paper, bottles and magazines saves energy. The materials that you recycle are used to create the products you buy. This means less virgin material needs to be mined or harvested, processed, manufactured and transported - all of which consume energy. Next time you go to throw something away, get creative and think of ways to reduce waste by reusing items or recycling.
