Message from Mark – My first 2 weeks at Mauser Packaging

Michelle MachenMauser News, Leadership Messages

Dear colleagues,

I want to take this opportunity to give you a quick update on what I have been doing over the last two weeks since joining Mauser Packaging Solutions.

First, I’d like to thank all of you for welcoming me into the Mauser Packaging family. Over the past fourteen days, I have visited seven plants in the Chicagoland area, a handful of plants in metro-Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as our plants in Homerville, Georgia and York, Pennsylvania respectively. In all plants that I have visited, I have found a passion for trying to do the right thing and real commitment and openness to long-term change that will benefit us all.  Again, I thank all of you who took time out of your busy schedule to help me understand more about you, and about the Mauser Packaging operations.

I have heard many frustrations that are impacting our ability to drive real, sustainable, long-term improvement in the business. I am listening to your frustrations; from the shortage of people and technical resources, to insufficient spending to ensure on-schedule preventive maintenance, to delays in spending capital to improve productivity.  I am committed to ongoing discussions with our executive leadership team to make sure that your voice and frustrations are heard.  We can’t fix all of these items tomorrow, but we are committed to taking the necessary steps to drive the right actions that will address the most pressing issues that are getting in the way of driving company success. In the meantime; remain patient, work your best to overachieve your daily and weekly goals, and remain committed to making the business better.

In the coming weeks, I will continue to visit more plants and will begin to interface with our customers.  I ask that you continue to teach me and help me understand how best to support you so that we can make continuous improvements and create successes for all to share.

Thanks again.
