Collaboration Between Business Units Creates Savings and Sustainability

The combined strength of Mauser Packaging Solutions enables our business units to collaborate and realize global solutions benefiting the business as a whole.

When IBC corner production in our Mount Vernon, Ohio Large Packaging facility exceeded capacity, a solution with in the Small Packaging Business Unit was found. Due to the close proximity to several IBC facilities in South Texas, the Bryan, Texas Small Packaging facility lends itself as a regional source for IBC corner production.

To facilitate IBC corner manufacturing in Bryan, a mold was transferred from Mount Vernon to Bryan and equipment was repurposed. Scott Cogan, Mount Vernon Injection Molding Process Engineer, traveled to Bryan to help with set up and initial production. An initial quantity of corners was sent to Mount Vernon for quality testing and passed quality checks.

While Mount Vernon will continue to supply IBC corners for Mauser Large Packaging, the ability to produce corners in Bryan will result in transportation and material cost savings for the company.

Stephen Dechert, Director of Operations (Small Packaging - Plastics), commented, “Great overall savings opportunity for the company to service the Southern region of Texas in Bryan. Team effort from both Small and Large Packaging. A lot of effort was put in by the Bryan team to get this installed and running.”
