The Mauser Employee Award Program provides recognition to employees for exceptional individual contributions.
Memphis, Tenn.
Donald Lamb, Shipping and Receiving Clerk at the Memphis, Tenn. facility, recently identified an opportunity to reduce waste by collaborating with another facility to return 2x4s used in shipping.
While routinely processing plate pallet returns to the Homerville, Ga. facility, Donald identified an opportunity to return reusable 2x4s along with the pallets. Rather than simply suggesting the idea, he took ownership by confirming the need with the Homerville team and helping implement the process.
On September 3, 2026, Donald coordinated the first shipment of 40 returned 2x4s. With approximately 200 pieces expected to be returned each month, the initiative is projected to generate significant financial savings, while reducing material waste.
In addition to financial and sustainability benefits, this project demonstrates the value of the Mauser network and the benefit of building relationships between facilities.
Donald’s proactive thinking, initiative, and follow-through have created lasting values for both Memphis and Homerville.
