Expertise and Innovation in Action
York, Penn.

When a palletizer elevator quit working on a key piece of equipment four hours before an important prospective customer visit, recent Employee Award Program recipients McClellan “Mac” Shearer and Dennis Showalter jumped into action to improvise a solution to keep the line running.

The issue occurred on an old-style connection that was not easily replaceable, so Shearer and Showalter reconfigured and installed a different motor that was in stock. Not only did they resolve the immediate problem, but the solution modernized the part and standardized it with one that is available off the shelf.

“Having this line running was integral to having a successful customer visit that included demonstrating the safety, quality, and productivity of the facility while manufacturing both metal and plastic containers. Great job by these guys for knowing what needed to be done and improvising to accomplish the task,” commented Lance Taylor, Plant Manager.

Congratulations, Mac and Dennis, and thank you for your commitment to keeping our operations running.
