Mauser Packaging Solutions traces its earliest roots back to 1875, when William Vogel founded a private family business producing items such as tinplate ports, pans, pails, water coolers, pie plates, cuspidors, and other household goods. In 1929, the company was re-established as Standard Sprayer, Inc., eventually evolving into the BWAY Corporation.
During the 1960s and 1970s, the company expanded its product line to include gallon tinplate paint cans, steel pails, and 5-gallon plastic pails—marking a shift toward the packaging solutions we produce today. Over the years, a series of product innovations, name changes, acquisitions, and mergers transformed this family-owned business into a leader in rigid packaging.
The history of BWAY Corporation, combined with the other companies that formed Mauser Packaging Solutions in 2018, provides a foundation of innovative solutions that drives our current commitment to meeting the ever-changing needs of the packaging industry.
From its humble beginnings as BWAY Corporation, the company has evolved through decades of innovation and transformation. Today, the earliest roots of the Company’s beginnings lives on as the North America Small Packaging business unit of Mauser Packaging Solutions—reflecting a journey of growth, adaptation, and leadership in rigid packaging.
